The difference between suffering through labor and working hard through labor
There’s a difference between suffering through labor and working hard through labor.
It sounds different, it feels differnt and it simply is different . Lets talk it about!
Have you heard of the Fear, Tension, Pain cycle? This is a suffering cycle you can get trapped in labor. You start FEARING the contractions , your body TENSES up, and the PAIN is actually much more intense. Our goal as doulas is to help you avoid this suffering cycle, and work WITH YOUR BODY and NOT against your body. How do we do this?
We Focus on the 3- Bs of Birth!
✨ Breath
Slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Visualize your breath moving down to your baby and back up. Simple and calming.
✨ Body
Move your body and change positions every 45 minutes.
Connect your breath to movement—inhale as you rock back, exhale as you lean forward.
✨ Baby
Stay connected to your baby.
Visualize their movement, talk to them, and breathe with them through each contraction.
You cant exactly plan for birth but you can prepare for it. You never know when birth is going to start, how it’s going to feel in your body, or how long it will last. However preparing both your body and mind for birth will allow you to approach your birth with confidence, no matter how it unfolds.
Preparing for birth focuses on the practical and emotional readiness for the experience itself, including childbirth education, practicing relaxation techniques, preparing physically, and establishing a support system.
