Do you know how to have an empowered epidural birth?

An epidural doesn’t mean giving up control — it can actually support a positive, empowered birth. 💛

Here are 3 tips to make an epidural work more effectively:

1️⃣ Wait for around 5 cm dilated

Waiting until your cervix is about 5 cm dilated can reduce the chance of slowing labor and needing extra interventions.

2️⃣ Change positions every 45 minutes

Even with an epidural, you can move within the bed. Changing positions helps labor progress and keeps your body active.

Pro tip: Ask your nurse for a peanut ball to help you shift positions and open your pelvis.

3️⃣ Stay connected to your body & baby

Use breathwork, visualization, and gentle focus to stay engaged with your labor experience, even with pain relief in place.

Birth is unpredictable, but with preparation and support, an epidural can be part of an empowered birth.
